Macias - In addition to the Conquistador Alonso Macias there was a Simon Macias del 
Marrullar who came to Mexico in 1539. Parents: Andres Suarez del Marrullar and Ines 
Fernandez de Santiago.

Montalvo - Francisco Montalvo arrived 40 days after the conquest of Mexico. He was 
a Hidalgo (minor member of nobility). Parents: Diego de Montalvo and Mari Lopez de 
Cuellar. Married lived in Veracruz then was an alcalde in Puebla where he died in 
1547.

Monte - The first Monte to the new world was Diego del Monte who came with Columbus 
on his second voyage in 1493. The first Monte to come to Mexico in 1539 was Pedro 
Monte from Velez Malaga. Parents: Juan Monte and Ines Martin.

Montemayor - The first to the new world was Juan Montemayor who arrived in Santo 
Domingo in 1498. He was from Cristobal de la Sierra, Salamanaca. There was a Pedro 
Fernandez de Montemayor from Estepa Seville, who arrived in Mexico in 1538. There 
also was a Gonzalo Hidalgo de Montemayor who arrived in Mexico in 1533 and was part 
of Cortes' expedition to Baja California. He was on the records of Puebla in 1547. 
Diego de Montemayor arrived in Mexico in 1547 or 1548 and eventually settled in and
is prominent in the history of Saltillo and Monterrey, Mexico. He married first Ines
Rodriguez having a daughter Ines that married Balthazar de Sosa. He then married 
Maria de Esquival and they had a son Diego Montemayor Jr. His third marriage was to 
the daughter of the Conquistador Vasco Porcallo and they had a daughter Estefana 
de Montemayor. Many have traced their family lines back to him.

Monzon - There was a Baltazar Monzon from Granada, who arrived in Mexico in 1535. 
Parents: Luis Monzon and Valentina Fernandez. Note: there was a Baltazar Monzon 
with Gonzalo Pizarro in Peru in 1548.

Moreno - on June 15,1538 the Conquistador Don Pedro Moreno a resident of Veracruz 
New Spain (Mexico) was granted the following Coat of Arms by the Emperor Carlos I: 
escudo curtado por una faja de oro; lo alto, de gules, con un puente de piedra 
sobre ondas de agua de azur y plata y superado de dos haces de cinco flechas cada 
uno, con las varas de oro, y los hierros de plata, atados y colocado cada uno cada 
lado, y 2, en campo de sinople un templo Azteca, al natural, acostado de otros dos 
haces de flechas como los anteriores. Bordura de sable. Tenantes: dos tigres.

Moya - A branch of the family came from the Knight Alvaro Marino who helped the 
village of Moya in Cuenca. Some in this line came to the Indies. Armas: Escudo 
partido: 1, en campo de gules, una escalera de oro, y 2, de veros de azur y

Munguia - The earliest arrival to Mexico in 1524, was Pedro Munguia from Munguia, 
Vizcaya Spain. He was a conquistador of Michoacan and went with Cortes on his 
expedition of Baja California 1535 and was part of the pacification of Nueva 
Galicia. On Mexican records in 1547. Parents: Ochoa de Iturribalzaga and Mari 
Sanz de Iturriaga.

Nores - On April 10,1658 in Monterrey, Rodrigo Nores made a declaration stating 
that he was born in England and was a resident of Cadereyta before going to 
Cerralvo where he married Ursula de Salinas.

Ochoa - on November 9,1546 the Conquistador Don Juan Ochoa de Lexalde a resident 
of Puebla de Los Angeles received the following Coat of Arms: escudo terciado en 
contramantel: 1, en campo de azur, cinco estrellas de oro, de siete puntas en cruz 
2, en campo de gules, un leon de oro, rampante, con una lanza de oro, que lleva 
una bandera de sinople, perfilada de oro, y el contramantel de gules, con una 
torre de plata, sobre ondas de agua de azur y plata. Bordura de oro, con ocho 
cruces de Jerusalen, de gules.

Olazaran - name comes from Onate Guilpuzcoa. Armas: En campo de plata un leon 
rampante de azur superado de una cruz flordelisada de gules.

Oliden - Armas: En campo de oro, una torre de piedra, y dentro de ella, un

Ordonez - an early settler was Juan Ordonez from Sevilla. He settled in San Juan 
de Ulua in 1527. Another was Sancho Ordonez from Badajoz who came to Mexico in 
1523. Founded Puebla in 1532. Went with Cortes to Baja California and with 
Coronado as well as Nueva Galicia with the Viceroy Mendoza. Parents: Juan Mateos 
and Olalla Ordonez. Married with one natural daughter and 4 grandchildren.

Orduna - from the city of the same name in Vizcaya. Armas: Escudo partido: 1, en
campo de sinople, tres barras de oro, y 2, en campo de oro, un arbol de sinople
superado de una aguila de sable.

Osorno - the first to arrive in Mexico was Francisco Osorno in 1535. Father: Juan
Osorno. Spanish Armas: En campo de plata, cinco cintas de gules, guarnecidas de 
oro. 

Otalora - Decendants of Juan Ruiz Otalora who lived in the times of Don Juan II, 
y Don Enrique IV. Armas: En campo de plata, una encina de sinople, con dos lobos 
de sable a su pie, encontrados y acollarados de gules.

Ovalle - Gonzalo Ovalle came first to Santo Domingo in 1521 and then with Garay to 
Panuco Mexico in 1523. A conquistador of Guatamala with Pedro de Alvarado in 1538. 
Could be found on Mexican records in 1545 (Chiapas). Parents: Pedro Ordonez and 
Dona Maria de Villafuerte.
