Escobedo - Two of the earliest arrivals were Diego and Juan both from Sevilla. Diego 
arrived in 1524 conquered parts of Mexico and in 1536 married the widow of the 
Conquistador Pablo de Retamales. Juan arrived in 1528 settled in Panuco and married 
the daughter of the Conquistador Bartolome de Cuellar.

Franco - In addition to the Conquistador Pedro de Franco another early arrival was 
Francisco Franco Estrada. Francisco arrived in 1524 and was a Conquistador of Honduras, 
and Oaxaca. He married in 1532 and had 6 children. Francisco's brother was Alonso Martin
Asturiano an artilleryman in the conquest.

Fuentes - Sometime around 1541 some of Bernal Diaz del Castillo's. tribute in Mexico was 
reassigned to his natural daughter dona Teresa Diaz de Padilla. Teresa later married Juan

Garza, de la - A name that is currently rare in Spain. The first settler was Marcos 
Alonso de la Garza y Arcon. Born in Lepe, Huelva, Spain c1540 and died in Nuevo Leon in 
1610. He was married to Juana de Trevino of Mexico City and they had the following children:

Gil - On May 6,1532 the Emperor Carlos the first granted the following arms to Don 
Cristobal Gil a resident of Antequera New Spain (Mexico): escudo cuartelado: 1, en 
campo de gules un castillo de oro sobre una pena de sinople, y en su homenaje, una 
bandera de plata cargada de una cruz de gules; 2, en campo de oro, dos tigres al 
natural empinados y afrontados 3, ondas de mar de azur y plata y 4, en campo de gules
un aguila de sable con las alas abiertas.

Gomez - In addition to the "Gomez" conquistadors already mentioned there was a Gonzalo 
Gomez who was born in 1498 and arrived in the Indies at the age of 12 with his father. 
At 16 he was in Central America and in 1524 settled in Mexico. Gomez married and had 
six children. One being a son by the name of Amador Gomez. While a resident of Michoacan
in 1536 he was investigated and brought before an inquisition for practicing the Jewish 
faith.

to Don Ruy Gonzalez a resident of Mexico City: escudo de oro, partido por una barra de
